Keeley and Joe celebrated their marriage in July 2023 in Pittsburgh and it was nothing short of spectacular! This couple chose to host their wedding reception at the Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh. Their wedding day was both unique, yet traditional, and filled with personal touches throughout. They chose Pittsburgh’s Historic Strip District as the location for all of their wedding day events. The Strip District is a famous neighborhood in Pittsburgh known for its wide variety of ethnic markets, local food and t-shirt stands, and tasty famous eateries. Keeley is a native to Pittsburgh, but many of her guests and husband included were from out of town, making this neighborhood the perfect spot to host a wedding and give them a true Pittsburgh experience! The bride, groom, and their loved ones stayed at The AC Hotel by Marriott downtown. The happy couple exchanged their vows just down the road on Smallman Street at the historic St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, one of the Five Shrine Churches of the Diocese of Pittsburgh! If you have never been before, this church is known for its long-standing history, impressive high ceilings, and stunning stained glass windows, making you feel like you stepped foot in a European cathedral! The bride and groom even surprised their guests with a picturesque rose petal drop from the ceiling of St. Stanislaus Kostka once they were presented as husband and wife! Guest then participated in a magical “bubble-send-off” for the happy couple which was unforgettable. Pittsburgh’s “Pittsburgh’s Trolley Works”, which is a vintage style old trolley car equipped with updated heating and air-conditioning if you aren’t familiar, provided the perfect mode of transportation for guests to continue the historical Pittsburgh experience and be transported to the wedding reception venue. The wedding party rode the trolley to have wedding portraits taken at Pittsburgh’s City County Building just a few minutes outside of the Strip District. This beautiful building that houses Pittsburgh’s government, offers gorgeous, covered architecture, making it the perfect spot for wedding day portraits, both rain or shine. The most exciting part of Keeley and Joe’s day, was when they got to finally celebrate their marriage, with their guests, at the Heinz History Center! Heinz History Center is a museum that offers unique history particular to Western Pennsylvania and focuses on preserving the local history (picture their famous Heinz 57 Ketchup display, Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood TV artifacts, Steelers memorabilia, and more). Fun fact, the Heinz History Center is affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution too (so cool)! In fact, Keeley and Joe’s guests got to experience cocktail hour on the ground floor of the museum and start the party along side a real Pittsburgh historic trolley car display and a famous local Kennywood Amusement Park roller coaster cart. It can’t get much more unique and historic than that! The museum even allowed Keeley and Joe to frolic through some of their famous displays for some unforgettable wedding portraits. Guests then continued the party with Pittsburgh’s Bachelor Band in the ballroom and danced the night away. If Pittsburgh holds a special place in your heart look no further than having your wedding in the Strip District, at Heinz History Center, it will not disappoint!
