Top Senior Portrait Locations Pittsburgh

There is no doubt that Pittsburgh is home to many beautiful parks and neighborhoods, presenting ample locations for the perfect senior portraits! As a photographer, though I love to vary my sessions and change up the scenery, I am going to share a few of my favorite locations for senior portraits.

The first being Pittsburgh’s North Shore, when you think of senior portraits, you cannot help but picture the infamous bridge picture portraits –after all, we are from the “City of Bridges”! Pittsburgh’s North Shore offers the opportunity to capture portraits by the bridges, along the rivers, and Point Park. This location is classic and includes beautiful city skyline views along with some greenery, making it a great spot.

Not far from Pittsburgh’s bridges and North shore is the Mexican War Streets! This neighborhood is an artsy, historic spot near the north side of Pittsburgh. This neighborhood is near Allegheny Commons Park, The Pittsburgh Aviary, Common Place Coffee, Randyland Museum, and The Mattress Factory Museum. This neighborhood is a great location for portraits with its beautiful architecture homes and a central park with garden located outside of Common Place Coffee. This spot is convenient being that it is proximal to Allegheny Commons Park, but downtown as well! For beautiful historic architecture, gardens, and a central location, I frequent this location

Another favorite senior portrait location I love is the Strip District. The Strip District is a historic neighborhood in Pittsburgh known for its ethic grocery stores, local food stands, and delicious and noteworthy eateries. This neighbor is filled with photo opportunities at its every turn! From unique architecture, textured walls like brick and even murals, and the city’s skyline, the Strip is a perfect spot to spice it up and make it fun!

One more favorite location that I frequent for senior sessions is Mellon Park in Shady side. This quaint, well maintained Pittsburgh garden is filled with beautiful blooms throughout the year and is the perfect spot for the senior seeking greenery and florals exclusively! This park never disappoints and offers some pretty iron gates, a beautiful fountain, and stone architecture as well.

A last favorite location for senior portraits is Hartwood Acres Mansion. Hartwood Acres Mansion, yes mansion, is a hidden gem located Northeast of Pittsburgh in Hampton Township. Hartwood Acres is arguably the most beautiful out of Allegheny County Parks and features a breathtaking 16th-century-style mansion. This spot is perfect for portraits simply with the beautiful Mansion’s immaculate stone exterior and gardens surrounding the property. This spot is perfect for those who love greenery, florals, and historic architecture.

Pittsburgh is a certainly picturesque city filled with so many prime locations for senior portraits, which one will you choose?
